Just Live

V. Christopher Holbrook

Our slogan, Just Live, started as a bit of a tongue-in-cheek response to a phrase from an influencer in the longevity space: Don’t Die. It is clever marketing for sure. They even made a movie about him and the slogan with the same name. But, something about it never sat right with me.
Anyone who has spent time in prayer, visualization, or manifestation knows this. NEVER speak what you don’t want. You don't say (or at least shouldn't say) I’m anti-war, rather you should say I am pro-peace. You don’t say don’t die, you should say just live.
That shift in language changes everything. Spiritually. Energetically. Physically.
Mother Teresa once illustrated this beautifully. A young person invited her to an anti-war rally. She declined, but said, “When you find a pro-peace rally, I’d love to attend with you.” She knew the power of focusing on what you do want, not what you don’t.
That’s what Just Live means to us. It’s about affirming life, not resisting death. It’s about choosing vitality, joy, and presence in every moment.
To Just Live means:
- Just live a long time.
- Just live healthily.
- Just live with a sharp mind.
- Just live happily.
- Just live as a warrior (whether in athletics, in spirit, or in the challenges of daily life).
It’s not our job to decide when we come and go from this world. As Dr. J. Wiles once put it, “Our finish line is not on this earth and it's not up to us when we go.” The Dalai Lama has said the same: tomorrow is never guaranteed.
So Just Live means to embrace today. Enjoy every moment. Seize the day, carpe diem — not as a cliché, but as a calling. As believers, we know this world is not our finish line. Eternity is ahead of us.
Until that day comes, our mission is to live as long, as healthy, as sharp, as joyful, and as strong as we possibly can. And when the time comes to be called home, we’ll have lived fully, without regret.
That’s the heart of Halo. Don’t obsess over the clock, or compare your pace of aging with anyone else. Don’t cling to fear. Instead: Just Live.
